when i go to download an app from the store, half the time a box pops up saying “this application is not compatible with this ipod.” the apps are not for iphones only because in the info it says its for either one. so why can’t i get these apps?

one of the apps i can’t download is facebook. all my friends can download it? why can’t i?
i have an ipod touch 2nd generation.
